Welcome Back to School - Year 34

As the doors open on our 34th school year, Our Children's Center continues to bring together teachers, parents, and children in a dynamic mixture where all are learners as well as teachers. Core values of respect and caring remind all of us to continue along the path of lifelong learning.

Each year, alumni families reminisce about the spirit that dwells here at OCC. These warm feelings and clear memories arise out of the interdependence created between the school and family communities as we worked together to provide the best possible education for young children.

As a non-profit organization, our school engages parents as partners in the decision making process. We have a parent board of directors that guides our understanding of our parents’ evolving needs. Parents depend on the school to provide loving care and a quality education for their children. We depend on parents to help us accomplish the work of the school. Our dependence is balanced and necessary. We are a true community (a village, really) because we raise all of our children together.

I believe this spirit attracts new families to OCC, as well as the strong recommendations of current or alumni families. With the school’s mission in mind, both the board and school administration strive to improve programs and to make our procedures and routines as sensible and helpful as possible. We do our best work when we find ways to listen and respond to our parents needs. Please let us know your thoughts; we are here to help you with your most important job – caring for your children.
