HARVEST FEAST - Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 11:30
This month brings one of our favorite holidays, Thanksgiving. It is a special day to be thankful for all the good things in our lives, to share them with those we love, and a day rich in meaning and tradition. And what better way to celebrate than with a special meal. Breaking bread together was likely the first social interaction between people, and many different cultures have celebrations of thanksgiving.
The staff and children of OCC invite all of you and your families to join us on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 24, at 11:30 a.m. for our Thanksgiving holiday celebration. We will focus on the meal and on the foods we think of as part of the wonderful fall harvest.
This luncheon will be a potluck, including a variety of soups, breads, fruits and desserts. For ease of serving we would greatly appreciate soup being brought in a crock-pot. We usually need extra crock-pots; if you have one we may borrow, please bring it in a day or two ahead of time.
The children will be baking bread and making grilled cheese sandwiches for the feast. There are sign-up sheets that offer categories for feast contributions on the brown table in the entry.
This gathering is a very special OCC tradition, which offers a wonderful opportunity to celebrate harvest, community and the many things for which we are thankful.
Check under the Forms Tab on this site to find several songs the children are learning this month.
